Even before he returned to the field, Landon Donovan was making news this week. The Los Angeles Galaxy now hope he can provide just as much excitement on the pitch after a four-game absence.Donovan and the Galaxy look to record their first win in 10 matches against the New England Revolution as the two meet Saturday.
Donovan, who has six goals and four assists, missed the Galaxy's last four games, including a 1-0 victory over Houston last Sunday, while helping the U.S. men's national team to a second-place finish in the Confederations Cup in South Africa. Los Angeles (3-3-9), which split the four games in his absence, is struggling near the bottom of the Western Conference standings with 18 points.
Donovan and the Galaxy are looking like a team on the verge of a serious push up the tables.
